The Lantern Slides sound is organic and hypnotic with edgy and modern electronic overtones and funky jazz rhythms underneath it all. The Lantern Slides find that place between past and future, lust and love, light and dark, where a special kind of music lives and breathes.

The band consists of Ethan Frye (vocals, guitar), Thom Stevenson (vocals, guitar), David Ruckman (bass, Moog Taurus pedals), and Joe Frye (drums,percussion). Having played together in a previous band, Frye and Stevenson formed a side project called Red On Red in October 2011 with the intention of recording an 8 song basement EP "to have something to listen to in the car". In March 2012, veteran DC musicians David Ruckman and Joe Frye (Ethan’s brother) joined the group, bringing a professional rhythm section into the mix and enabling the band to play live settings.

In 2013, the group was officially renamed "The Lantern Slides" and recorded their debut self-titled, 6-song EP which was released 10/7/2014. The band has played some of Northern Virginia and Washington DC's premier venues, including DC9, Jammin Java and Iota. The Lantern Slides’ full-length sophomore album, "The Creek Belongs to the Door" is currently in production and due for release in September 2015. The new album brings a refined and earthy sound to The Lantern Slides, with Frye playing acoustic guitar and Stevenson handling the electric guitar work and keyboards.
