TheCrystalApes were founded in Hamburg in summer 2007 by singer and songwriter Tina (TinTin). The core consists of herself and the "E-machine operator" docJones (Thomas).

Music:

It must have something to do with Tin-Tin's mix in her family tree (Germany, Honduras, former Czechoslovakia, USA) that she instinctively crosses genre boundaries. In her mostly electronic sound guitars merge with orchestral elements, trip-hop elements with dark sounds, straight with break beats. An atmospherical to boiling and aggressive trip.

Voice:

Her deep voice which also feels good in fragile realms is the golden thread in a unique musical style that nevertheless is homogeneous "The Crystal Apes".

Lyrics:

In Tina's lyrics, the boundaries between external impressions and self-reflection are blurred from a deliberately subjective attitude. They are not about preaching and accusing alleged culprits, it's rather about the understanding of the people themselves.
