The Blest were founded by brothers Dominic Guida (Lead vocals/Guitar) and Patrick Drive (Drums) and originated in Adelaide, Australia in 1982.
Playing to thousands of hotel punters & School students they put on hundreds of high energy live performances.

The recordings on this site date back to the early eighties and were made when the boys were just 16, 17 & 18 respectively.

Influences from blues and early rock n' roll was broadly apparent, fostered by the love of those styles by Guida, Drive and Gian contributed strong pop sensibilities. This allowed volatile rock songs like "The Sharks" and "Too Hot For You" to stand beside thoughtful ballads like "Anistasia" pop-flavored songs like "Play School" and caustic political statements like "Peaceful Day".

The Blest were a favorite to all the major touring bands at the time, The Go - Betweens, Rose Tattoo, The Dukes, John Schumann who would demand that they support them at their live shows. John Schumann once said "Darn' You guys put more energy into one song than i do in a whole show!"

The Blest disbanded in 1985 after a short yet very productive period of creating and performing their music. On this site you will hear a little of what took place back then, these recordings are very basic but the energy is quite audible.
