He quickly became a credible self-taught singer, piano player & songwriter. He still sings & record muzik under his real name, Michael Lane. But as The B.L.A.C.K., he expresses another side of himself. "The B.L.A.C.K. is my angry side. It's a side where I can express my frustrations with no qualms." says the sort-of deep voiced artist. "I'm from the ghetto streets of Chi-Town. So you know I got the hood in me no matter what else I do. But in the long run, the message is still the same.....PEACE!"

The Chi-Town rapper also works with other groups. Chi-Teck, The Black Klann, The Blood Brothaz, Windi Cali Committii, Drastik Measirez & F.T.O.L. Records. His goals are simple. "I just want 2 see my boys on top. And as 4 me, I hope that my success will be measured not by chart success or fame. But by helping a kid or more than 1 2 stop the gangbanging. 2 stop the violence. Ya know? 4 people 2 be more responsible". He continues, " My people don't need 2 be put down. We need 2 be uplifted. We'll never value lives if we don't value ours. And if I play any small part in that process, that will be my success." Well said.

And his plight to success has just expanded. He is now an internet radio show host of "Like It Or Not With Michael Lane", also known as the #teamLIONshow where he speaks on the problems of the Black community & the state of America. Not only that, he opines on subjects like politics, entertainment, health, modeling & more. But his bread & butter is his indie music showcase.He spins the best in indie music that you may not have heard of. So not only is he entertaining & educating, but he's also giving the power of music back to the fans! "Look. In any way I can leave an indelible & positive, yet controversial mark on the world," B.L.A.C.K. adds, "I will be way more than happy to do just that!"
