This short-lived US hard rock group was formed in 1978 by ex-Ted Nugent band duo Derek St.
Holmes (vocals, guitar) and Rob Grange (bass, vocals). Recruiting ex-Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi, the line-up looked very promising. Signed by Warner Brothers, they released a self-titled debut in 1979. Comprising of power metal, the album lacked both drive and individuality and compared unfavourably with everything with which the band’s members had previously been associated. Following a European tour supporting Van Halen, which failed to win new fans for St. Paradise, the band disintegrated. Carmassi joined Gamma and St. Holmes worked with Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford for a short time, before rejoining Nugent once more.
