Honing his musical chops in his native New York, he came to California to find his voice in Los Angeles radio, going on to be nationally recognized for production work. In studio settings he is sought for his appreciation of tone.

Currently, Steven runs a dual career, touring as a solo act across North America at acoustic venues, and more loudly as banjo player for San Francisco Bay area based Hubbub Club. The Hubbub Club performs up and down the west coast at festivals and concerts, raising the voices and spirits of people at every turn. Steven has recently moved and now calls Santa Rosa, California home.
