SPAWN is an energetic seven headed ska-rock band from the Netherlands and was founded in 2001.
Completed with a horn trio and smooth rhythm section, SPAWN gives their own twist to the British ska-wave of the eighties and the third-wave of the nineties. “With rock influences and organ sounds, SPAWN’s ska sounds surprisingly fresh. The songs are somewhere in between Madness and Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Not a bad comparison for the Dutch ska-rockers” (3voor12).

Good album reviews and major venue gigs

Debut album ‘Spawntaneous’ was named ‘CD of the month’ at the National Pop Institute. “Good horn arrangements, nice songs and a pleasantly fresh sound” (FRET magazine). Also the second album ‘Hosdroplos’ was wel liked: “After listening to Hosdroplos it became more than clear why the eastern part of the Netherlands has put them on a pedestal. No festival tent is too small for this pounding ska" (3voor12). SPAWN knows how to get a party started with more than 160 gigs throughout the Netherlands, at venues and festivals like the Popronde, Zwarte Cross Festival (main stage), Paaspop and Paradiso.

New album Spring 2016

In March 2016 SPAWN is going to record a new album. Two tracks have been put online: Lunatics and Voodoo, which yielded good reviews. “Very nice track, potentially a super hit” (Tom Blomberg, formerly 3FM about Lunatics). Also Giel Beelen (3FM) played the track on national radio in his morning show: “This is really a party band!”
