Detroit-based experimental duo South South Million are a side project of Zoos of Berlin frontmen Trevor Naud and Daniel I. Clark.
Blending a mix of found sounds and samples with live instrumentation and occasional vocals, the duo creates a sort of pop-based sound art that seems a natural extension of their work with Zoos. Although there are elements of sound collage, electro-acoustic, ambient, and jazz, Naud and Clark always retain the strong melodic sense that has been a hallmark of all their projects. South South Million self-released a six-song EP called Satellite Gallery in September of 2011. They eventually signed with New York-based Triple Down Records, which issued the band's debut LP, Wind Hand Caught in the Door, in 2012. ~ Timothy Monger
