New line up! NewAlbum! No Compromises!
Equipped with experiences from other bands, Slears canconcentrate on the essentials. Just pure rock, straight tforward and modern. Two guitars, a good groove, and a necessary dose of hard rock result in songs, that are full of energy and, above all, good for one thing: having fun.

Founded by Tom Käser back in 2007 with the idea, of finallymaking music focused just on the songs and not on the whole shmear. Aftercountless live shows and several album productions (including “A Life Divided”and “Silentdecay”), the time was right to mount something new. From the firstwith sidekick Gustl Berauer, who importantly characterises the sound of SLEARSwith solo guitars like a shot. Both know each other since the school days wherethey started their first band back in 1996.

SLEARS´s first line up still presented musicians from bandslike “A Life Divided” (Jürgen Plangger – vocals, Tobi Egger – bass) and “Dryrot”(Bastian Gawer – drums). Game changing was the change on vocals in 2008. JürgenPlangger leaves the band to concentrate on A Live Divided. He is replaced byToni Eichinger, who puts the band´s first demo “Stormy Roads Ahead” his mark onwith his bluesy voice. The demo gets good reviews in several online magazines.Otherwise unfortunately not much happened. But this is sometimes the bands ownfault. First Bastian Gawer leaves the band and is replaced by Max Winkler. Followedshortly afterwards by Tobi Egger. For him joins Andy Eichinger (the brother ofToni). But this line up is a brief one, too. Toni and Max leave the band in2010.

After months of fruitless searching the band iscomplete again as a five piece in the middle of 2011 presenting the new drummerDaniel Rasquin, who fits perfect with his filigree but powerful style ofplaying. Second new member is vocalist Peter Kandlinger. His multifaceted rockvoice strengthens the sound of SLEARS importantly. The line up is as strong asnever before. And rightly so the band decides to record a full length albumwith the approach to carry out the whole process themself with the support ofChristian Mundel (owner of Retro Cube Studio). Many ideas are born and buried, tons of equipment purchased, tested and sold again. Parts were recorded, changed and rerecorded. The whole process drags on for over one and a half year.

Mixing is done by Christian Mundel and mastering by Mika Jussila (Finnvox Studio, Helsinki).

The band recorded an outstanding album including 12modern and powerful rock songs which want to be played on stage.

The title of the album “Far Away From GettingSomewhere” hints on the bands own philosophy, because one thing has neverchanged over the years: An easy going bavarian quality and a sense for thebasics give rise to music that proves, that finding your own way is always thegoal. Everything else comes naturally.

The new album “Far Away From Getting Somewhere” isavailable in October 24th.
