Having a Masters Degree in Mass Communicationfrom University of Delhi, he has spent Six years of high-end, corporateexpertise, with an in-depth knowledge of every aspects of the direction, filmmaking with prioritizing the cultural sensitivity from India to overseas.
He was closely associated with NSD,Delhi working with the director of the institute Mr. Devendra Raj Ankur and also FTII, Pune. Apart from that, hehas also worked as an actor's coach for Bhartiya Natya Academy,Lucknow.Shekhar wouldterm his expertise in Conceptualization, Screenplay and direction.Although he has faired good as an editor but currently would like to focus ondirection. His initial association goes on with an associationwith Hindustan Times Group, Delhi where he directed/created 100 Short Films fortheir Portal. Later on served as an CreativeDirector with Bottomline advertising, Delhi in January 2006 for a year's time period wherehe creatively designed and Solely directed dozens of Ad Films includingCommercial for Niho Construction Ltd, Corporate Film for NIILMSchool of business and so on.
Hisintial experience in Mumbai starts with Adguru Prahlad Kakadand Mr. Shashank Ghoshwith them he worked in Ads like, Zandu,Horlicks, Samsung, Cello andthe list goes on. Later on he shifted from Ad Films totelevisions and worked for Anushka Imagesfor a decently long period, starting from January 2007 till end of 2008,which included, Arrested by Rakkhi Sawant a talkshow, For ZEE NEXT. "Mr. And Miss Television", A realityshow, created war between television stars, produced for Sony Television,hosted by Shonli Nagrani and Judged by, Madhur Bhandarkar and Sonali Bendre."Aur Pyar ho Gaya" based on love festivalvalentine's day, for Zee TV Daily soap "TUJH SANG PREET LAGI" for Talat Jani.
Then after he made a complete shift fromTelevision towards movies, again the credit goes to Mr. Shashank Ghosh with whom he was associated creatively for his movieprojects. Followed by 3 movies where he worked as Associate Director,"KHAJOOR" a feature film directed by Saurabh Tiwari."SARDARPOST". With Deepak Mehra.”APRAJITA"a feature film Directed by Reema Mukharjee.
His first movie as an independent writer andcreative director is scheduled to release by end of this year. It’s titled Choron ki Baarat. It’s adelightful tale of errors, foiled attempts, intertwined fates and one bigsteal!
