  • Philadelphia Real Estate Agent Review
Of all the cities in the United States, Philadelphia is one of the nation's most historic. It's where the United States was born and is home to the famous Liberty Bell. It's the home of America's first Zoo, the first hospital, the first medical school, the first Daily News paper, first public school, and was the first "planned" city in the U.S. There's arguably more history in "The City of Brotherly Love", than in Washington D.C.
Philadelphia is known as the home of the "Philly Cheese Steak" and is where the sandwhich was invented. Popular cheese steak shops like Pat's in South Philadelphia stay crowded with lines of hungry customers wanting to get their hands on a great steak sandwhich with cheez wiz and fried onions.
Many in Philadelphia will also suggest that Philly is the best place to have a beer. Benjamin Franklin said, "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Philly has LOTS of beer. Beer gardens line the streets all summer long. Spruce Street Park, South Philly, and the Italian Market area are great places to enjoy some good beer. Many Philadelphia residents have their own basement bars that they take a lot of pride in and a lot of restaurants allow customers to bring their own beer to enjoy with their meals.
Philadelphia has the nation's largest urban park system. It is a bike friendly city with Fairmount Park having 215 miles of recreational and mountain bike trails for bicycle riding enthusiasts to enjoy.
Philadelphia doesn't have many "natural disasters". Other than the occassional flood or blizzard, and some possible high winds Philly doesn't get many weather threats. There are no earth quakes, tornados here. Basement flooding however is a real issue for many Philadelphia residents however and you should keep a good plumber on speed dial.
