Another of super bassist Bootsy Collins' seemingly endless side projects, Science Faxtion is essentially the Praxis lineup (Collins on bass, Buckethead on guitar, and Brian "Brain" Mantia on drums) with versatile singer and guitarist Greg Hampton and programmer DJ Botieus along for the ride.
Falling to the rock side of the funk line, Science Faxtion aimed for a futuristic funk sound (which is, when you think about it, what Collins has really always been doing throughout his busy career) on their debut album, Living on Another Frequency, which was released in the fall of 2008 on Mascot Records and featured guest contributions from Bernie Worrell, rapper Chuck D, and others. ~ Steve Leggett
