Bychance, two baby girls were born on a faraway moon.
They were the daughters ofKing Valentime and Queen Aura Zandra the great rulers of the former Kingdom of V. This made them princesses, but to aking and queen who no longer ruled their own land. They lived just past the point where the heatfrom the sun rises upon the mountains and caverns of ice and evaporates intorain that pours up into the sky instead of down onto the ground. Along with thelast of their people they were forced to retreat to the dark side of the moon. Theybuilt a new hidden kingdom in the darkness, with the creatures of the moonbeing the only light to light their cities. Hovering along the dark side of themoon, the diverse animals illuminated the streets with a silvery light glowinglike hovering streetlights so the people could see.

Itwas a small kingdom starting anew. The newly built houses and small markets weregrowing into an empire once again. Each day as the sun set into the westernsky, and the magnificent moon creatures rested for the night, and their citiesgrew dark, only the dim light of the stars twinkling above the towns stirred asthe princesses lulled off to sleep.

Acastle of glistening ice was formed for the daughters of the King and Queen to bebrought up in, amongst their people in peace. Still the princesses Jasmine and Nevaeh dearly longed to go to theirformer home resting within the mountains of The Kingdom of V.

Insteadthey lived cloaked in darkness away from the new ruler of their former kingdom QueenVolsonya which was now The Kingdom of Destructo. But if Queen Volsonya had everknown they were still alive she would surely send her armies until their peoplecould not fight anymore.

The princesses hoped that the rule of the evil queenwould not last long, that some ill would overcome the evil empire until theywere weak and could be easily overtaken by their father’s armies. And there washope that their empire would fall. The head of their father’s armies, a goodman named Zom was now searching for the lost Kingdom of Wto unite the two kingdoms and fight to restore the light of the moon which was nearlydestroyed in the battle for The Kingdom of V.

Fornow the two exceptionally talented princesses were learning to govern the lastcity to stand against the Dark Witch Volsonya and the former rulers of the darkside of the moon, in irony they were growing up where the evil that overcametheir kingdom began. The evil queen found her harsh magic there and used itagainst the kingdoms of the moon until they were weak and unable to fight anylonger.

Asyou would imagine it was quite a bummer, the dark side of the moon, consideringhow luxurious the castles were, that once stood amongst the glorious cities inthe Kingdom of V. Where their castle stood, endlesslycrafted into an infinite princess’s paradise and the city streets still sparklingunder the silvery glow of the moon. They were now so very far away.

Instead, Nevaeh and Jasmine learned to enjoythe little moments that made living on the dark side of the moon gratifying. Jasminewas an expert at making silly faces and Nevaeh could read up a storm. Nevaeh’slong strawberry blonde hair was often seen behind a novel curled up in a chairin the corner of one room or another. Her sass and her attitude quieted for amoment while she read through the pages of her favorite books. Passing through the room she was almostinvisible, just a thin young lady, sitting in a chair, soaking up an author’sworld.

Jasmine at timeswould sit nearby and listen to the details of the story, but often she foundherself busy sewing or creating some form of art to bring small details ofmajesty to the castle. Her blonde hair would be pulled back in a bun to keep itout of the way of her projects as she worked diligently at one craft oranother. Her attitude was always sweet and sassy with her visitors keeping adelightful company with just enough spice to give the moment a bit of charm.

Although the moonpeople had strived to rebuild the grandeur home they once cherished so much, the dim kingdom was still far from the satisfaction of going home but still humblybeautiful under the starlight. A castle of shimmering ice stood in the middleof their new capital city and the new hidden kingdom was slowly shaping intothe craftsmanship their people had worked so long for in the kingdom of V.The moon people had started anew. The race of the moon people, and many of thediverse creatures that walked among the light side of the moon, brought up theirlast seed of hope on the dark side of the moon. It was their last resort, in atime of destruction and darkness.

Theprincesses were raised to be strong, elegant, talented, inteligent, andcharming young ladies despite the ridiculous conditions of the sanctuary comparedto their castle home. The young princesses spent their days learning and The Kingdomof V was but a memory of the way things were before The War of the Dark Witch Volsonya.

Thelight of the moon was slowly dying and many of the moon people had been destroyedin the war for the bright side of the moon. The inhabitants of the kingdom of V left their treasures behind and withthem those who betrayed their king to follow the rule of Volsonya and hercompany of foolish men. Whether they regretted their decisions or not they weregone away from the wise king and now ruled by wickedness and deceit.

Faraway from his kingdom, King Valentime kept his daughters close in heart, as tonurture their hope in their people. They were taught ways of culture, ways ofcaring for the weak, attending to matters concerning their kingdom, etc."The lack of insight could be the extinction of a race. Anticipation, inthe next battle may be our key, just do not ever believe it is hopeless"Valentime said to his daughters.

King Valentime, and thelovely Queen Aura Zandra, governed the cities of the sanctuary. They governedwith the same principles as they had The Kingdom of V. Men were still giventheir freedom and the laws were fair. They were striving to build a strongernation. Families had enough to get by, but hearts were aching for those whostruggled just to have enough to eat. Their people worked extremely hard whichwas one of the only reasons their people survived.

"Itis in the worst times that people need each other the most," Jasmineexclaimed to Nevaeh.

Asyoung ladies, Nevaeh and Jasmine endured a tough upbringing. Becoming gracefulin such dark times was not easy. There were tremendous sacrifices the moon familieshad to make in order to feed thier people. The farms took a tremendous amountof care and only certain foods would grow. They were hungry for the deliciousmoon melons, and tasty vegetables that grew so easily before. It required mostof their energy to keep enough light from the stars shining over the farmland. Therewere times that there was not enough light and in these times the crops werescarce. A princess never forgets how excruciating it is to see a child starvingand likely will always remembers giving her only meal for the night. “Weabsolutely must do something about hunger.” Nevaeh exclaimed to her sister onenight in reminisce of times she traded her meal for the pain of hunger andwarmth in the heart. These moments had happened living on the dark side of themoon. For a child to eat is a priority above even a princess.

Thankfullythey had the comfort of friends and neighbors who proved to be the nourishmentthat kept the sanctuary alive. And times spent laughing, and learning the rulesabout life with a sister made enduring the grueling times, seem worth thehardships. Enjoying the beauty that resides in all things brought grace to thesisters and upon all the creatures that intermingled with each other on themoon.

Thecity streets of the forming hidden kingdom were abundant with glowing life. Likethe creatures that illuminate the depths of the ocean were the creatures of themoon. Though days spent together were almost always covered in night, thecompany of a moon creature was the most exquisite of radiance. Without them theliving in the cities of their budding kingdom would have been living in intolerabledarkness. It is not a simple feat to live on the dark side of the moon.

In the daytime moon people walked side by side with themoon beasts. They went about their dailywork amongst the glorious beauty of extraordinary lunar creatures thatpopulated the territory. To look upon a moon beast was like looking upon themajesty of a sunrise. They were much like the creatures of the earthen sea. Atinkerving looked like a sea lion with colorful gills; a blunton was similar toa dolphin, it was translucent blue, and within their chest was like they hadswallowed a thousand stars. Unlike the dolphins on earth the sky was theirwater. Their movements were as graceful as the finest ballet and choreographedfiner than the most magnificent earthly birds. No matter how dark the moonbecame these creatures made living in the hidden kingdom a treasure. Eachmorning, much like a sunrise the princesses woke to the Fralogan. Now it isdifficult to explain how the Fralogan looked or how infinitely blue their lightwas. It was like there was no end and no beginning, the moon people believedthey were made from the light of the moon. Their shape was almost like a galaxywith the exception of their many limbs that pushed out from within theircenter. There are too many creatures on the moon to give name, but oneexceptionally important creature is a Veptune. A Veptune is best described as alion with beautiful white wings, the rest of them was silver entirely, sterlingto be more descriptive. And their mains defied gravity, because there was nogravity on their faraway moon. Each princess was given a baby Veptune when theywere still very small. Nevaeh named her Veptune Orry and Jasmine thought thenamed Justice suited her beast wonderfully. The princess’s, especially Nevaehcould still remember curling up against the chest of these creatures atnaptime, and how they would curl their main around their little fingers as theylay down for their nap, dozing off to sleep against their warm fur to therhythm of their veptune’s heartbeat.

Thelove of their protective beasts surpassed their very heart; it was within theirentire being. With their Veptunes the young ladies grew up, they were best friendsand confidants trying to redeem the time in every moment. The princesses were very smart. The younggirls studied together, played sports, and pretty much just hung out together allthe time.

Theyslept in a large room in the center of the castle, decorated by the beautiful carvingsof roses and lilies etched into the stone walls. Two large stone beds asintricately carved stood in each corner. Beautiful purple fabrics adorned the blankets that lay atop the finelycrafted mattresses. No measure was spared to make the hidden kingdom feel closeto the elegance of home. Nevaeh sat in the small stone chair that sat besidethe window.

"Doyou ever just stare out of the window and remember all the times in the castleand memories of Orry and memories of the festivals and memories of it all?”Nevaeh asked Jasmine. "You mean youtend to reminesce often? Princess? PRIN...rincess? PRINCESS?!" Jasminebegan, “I have to bark at you just get your attention!" Jasmine exclaimed."Sorry, I just wish I could go back" Nevaeh returned. "Yup butevil eventually finds it's weakness, and it did long before the war for themoon broke out, see it discovered the heart of Volsonya and found it's wayin." Jasmine said with emphasis. "Yup, when the young witch grew upshe took the moon so swiftly that an innocent empire was taken almostovernight." added Nevaeh.

Theyunderstood their kingdom well. The girls were quized about thier formerkingdom, of what is most important to remember, and what events led to thedisaster that befell thier homeland. "What knowledge had been overlookedin the war for the moon?" asked Queen Aura Zandra. "That it was thesilvery light that was the source of Volsonya's powers". Nevaeh wouldanswer very politely. "It is important that the girls understand certainthings." Queen Aura Zandra would explain.

Growingup in a hidden kingdom seemed a lot like growing up in a nursery. People fussedover them constantly, statements like "we have been discussing matters ofa princess.", or “Speaking of which, have they studied the writing on theancient caverns yet, I bet they would be so excited.” would arise whenever thegirls were near.

Luckilythe men and women who survived the war over the moon were very loyal to thierking. Each and every citizen gave their life as a soldier willing to spend theirlife fighting to return to their kingdom.

Sowithout alot of extra ammenities, life in the hidden kingdom still became quitefulfilling and eventually, they discovered a way to harness light from thestars, and slowly cities began to grow along with the hidden kingdom.

Whydoesn't the witch deystroy the hidden kingdom you ask? Well as I have said moonpeople are very, very smart, and the solution was simple. All they did wascloak the kingdom in the very darkness that covered the dark side of themoon.

Astime progressed King Valentime tended to matters of military often inanticipation for the time that they would rise up to fight Volsonya and restorethe light of the moon. "I believe the day is coming soon Nevaeh",Valentime exclaimed with what looked like a sense of accomplishment, "Tothink we were going to raise you to rule in peaceful times." added QueenAngela.
