Sankofa “To return to your past in order to know where you are going in the future”.
As a young man Sankofa embraced his African Ancestry and bean a journey of self discovery. During the 80’s his love for reggae music grew. Playing with “King Platinum Sound System” in New York he started to experiment with chanting on the microphone. The positive reaction with much support encouraged him to pursue a Singing career in his favorite genre; Reggae.

In June 1999, Sankofa Lion released a CD entitled “Movements Rising”, a collaboration with various artists in St. Kitts - West Indies. In June 2000, he released “Nazarites”, this time collaborating with “House of Judah Musical - Foundation” and multiple artists. Both, experiences paved the way for one of Sankofas’ greatest achievements, the release of his first solo album in June 2002 entitled “Reality”.

Sankofa combines his musical talent with his levitical practice of Ras Tafari tradition and life. All inspiration comes directly from his spiritual connection with his ancestors, life experiences and his personal connection with His Imperial Majesty Hailie Selassie the First. His influence also comes from revolutionary soldiers such as Garnet Silk and others. A warrior for African redemption, Sankofa continues to take his life journey seriously educating and purifying people through his continuous advocacy for true freedom and liberty with no barriers on life. “My music career plan is to continue to use music to inspire righteousness and self-confidence in people around the world and to revive the message of Marcus Garvey, which calls for African Unity and Repatriation.”
