Ruth Moody is an Australian-born, Winnipeg, Manitoba-raised singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
She is the former lead singer of the Canadian roots band Scruj MacDuhk (which would later become the Duhks), and a founding member -- and one third -- of the internationally celebrated, Billboard-charting, Wailin' Jennys.

Moody's first solo album, The Garden, appeared in 2010 on Red House Records. It was nominated for a Juno. After the Wailin' Jennys released their Juno-winning Bright Morning Stars in 2011 and completed a world tour, Moody recorded her second solo offering, These Wilder Things, which featured contributions from Mark Knopfler, Jerry Douglas, Aiofe O'Donovan, and her bandmates. The album was released in May of 2013. ~ Thom Jurek
