Naming her idols ranging from Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, André 3000, to Tracy Chapman, The XX, Beach House, Björk and Nina Simone, Rubee describes her sound as an unsteady balance between Indie-pop, Alternative Rock and Hip Hop.
2009 is the year it officially began after Rubee established her first publishing deal with Joe Taylor of nuxx/warner chappell & Oyster Music leading her on to working in studio with some big named producers such as Gavin Monaghan (The fugees, The killers, Kings Of Leon, Editors). The latter part of 2009 saw her performing on BBC Introducing stages leading on to opening for Pixie Lott at a charity event in Shoreditch House. Fresh from performing at Radio 1's Big weekend festival on the BBC Introducing stage, 2013 will see the release of Rubee's first EP project entitled Forever Golden.
