Béarnais de naissance et d’accent, Ricky est espagnol de cœur depuis son enfance, lorsque ses parents partirent s’installer en Andalousie.Il fait ses premières armes au sein de différents groupes de rock du Sud-Ouest à la fin des années 70, monte à Paris où,confronté à différentes expériences musicales, entre autres avec Manu Chao qui l’accompagne, il fonde en 83, le groupe RICKY AMIGOS ,créateur du Flamenco-rock et de la Rumba n’ roll en Europe,montrant ainsi le chemin à d’autres groupes comme Mano Negra ou les Négresses Vertes.

Dés le premier disque, le succés est immédiat et de nombreuses émissions de TV et concerts se succédent en France et en Europe.La musique de RICKY AMIGOS est un subtil et à la fois explosif mélange de Flamenco, de Rumba gitane et d’authentique Rock, chanté en espagnol et en français, qui transforme chacun de leur concert en une super Fiesta unique.

Biography in english

Born in the souht west of France, near the Pyrenees mountains, Ricky is Spanish, in his heart ,since his family went to live in the south of Spain ( Andalucia ,costa del sol ) in 1970. He begins to play music, singing in rock n‘ roll bands (Teenage Head, les Modernes ) in the late seventies in the south west side of France.Then, he establish himself in Paris and after some various experiences , including one with Manu Chao, who back him as electric guitarist, he creates the band “ Ricky Amigos “ in 1983 and the style called “ Flamenco rock “ or “Rumba billy “,showing the way to various bands as Mano negra and the Négresses vertes.

Since the first record , the success is immediate and they tour in Europe and take part of various TV shows.

The music of Ricky Amigos is a subtle mix of Flamenco , gypsy rumba and genuine Rock n’ roll , sung in French, Spanish and English ,that transform each show in a unique Feast.
