Dedicated to a mix of Brazilian music with electronica, Rebeca Matta drew influences from Tom Zé and Tropicália for her work, launching Tantas Coisas in 1999, album that fused a variety of collages of Eastern and Brazilian musics and the use of acoustic instruments, bringing her the 1999 APCA (Association of Art Critics of São Paulo) prize.
In 2000, her Garotas Boas Vão Pro Céu, Garotas Más Vão Pra Qualquer Lugar brought the originals "O Olho Nu" and "É Que A Vida É" and her version for Chico Science's "A Cidade". ~ Alvaro Neder
