Fusing American style rock and raw psychedelic fury with influences as dark and diverse as metal, delta blues, death rock, The Misfits, Hendrix, the Doors, the Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Elvis, and Johnny Cash, "Rock ‘n’ Roll Villain Society started their career as RadioStar SF, but changed the name, rumor had it, to avoid confusion with another band. Although Drummer Cameron Landers offers this theory:

“In reality we changed it because Jay [singer and lead guitarist Jay Skyler] always hated it. He was outvoted on it when the band began. I think Rock ‘n’ Roll Villain Society describes the music far better and had no argument.”

If I were to make comparisons, I would say that Rock ‘n’ Roll Villain Society’s style invokes the spirits of a wide array of groups from THE CULT to MISFITS to Joe Wood era TSOL to REVERAND HORTON HEAT to THE DOORS, and the list goes on.
