Peter Lambropoulos has had a passion for music from a very young age.
Peter was born and raised in the Athens suburb of Marousi where his love of music began to flourish. At the age of 17, Peter purchased his first guitar,began private lessons, and decided at that point that he would pursue music asa profession. Peter's choice did not sit well with his father as at the time there was a negative stigma associated with professional musicians in Greece,however Peter continued to persevere and develop his talent in spite of the obstacles that he faced.
Peter developed his craft even further when he entered the Greek Air Force and was a percussionist for the Marching Band for 2 years. Peter performed regularly for events commemorating national observances where he often performed for dignitaries and heads of state. Following his service in the Air Force, in 1971 Peter traveled to Germany where he entertained at various Greek establishments catering to Greek and non Greek clientele. In 1972, Peter traveled to Toronto Canada and began performing on the famed strip of Danforth Avenue which is considered "Greek Town." It was here where Peter met bouzouki virtuoso Harry Lemonopoulo. Peter performed with Harry in the "Holiday in Greece" band for over 3years. Performing for Greek communities throughout North America which included the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg,Vancouver, as well as the U.S. cities of Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, New YorkCity, Baltimore, Atlanta, Intianapolis, Mineapolis, Salt Lake City, Seattle,Houston, and New Orleans. Peter has accompanied some of the biggest names in Greek music including Manoli Angelopoulo, Vicki Mosholiou,Rita Sakelariou, Litsa Diamanti,Tony Marouda. Laki Alexadrou, Foti Polymeri, Maya Melaya, Vageli Perpiniadi, Spyro Zagoreo, Spyro Skordili, apostolo nikolaidi, the rebetes Leyteri Tsagari, Elia Potosidi,The famous comedian Harry Klynn, , and to name a few.
Peter has amassed an extensive repertoire of over a Thousand Songs that includes every genre of Greek music from every region. Peter proficiently plays several instruments including bouzouki, guitar, Bass, baglama, and percussion.Peter utilizes the latest <midi real="" time="" arranger="">technology to create asound of 5 or 6 musicians with a 2 or 3 piece ensemble. Peter offers ensembles ranging from 2 to 4 musicians depending on the available budget and desired intimacy of the event. Peter is available to perform with his band for any occasion.</midi>
