Philadelphia's Omegalord was put together in 2001 by a group of underground scene veterans, including vocalist the Reverend (formerly with local death metal act Insatanity), guitarists J.Sun and Deebo, bassist Chauncy, and drummer Race.
Basing their muscular, metallic hard rock sound on that of post-stoner rockers like Orange Goblin and the Mighty Nimbus, the quintet recorded two EPs while performing in and around the Eastern Seaboard, then issued their first full-length, Hammer Down, in 2005. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
