This UK rap group recorded their first single for their own Little Rascool Records before moving to the cult London, England label, Kold Sweat.
The derivative but well-executed 1992 single, ‘Crazy Mad Flow’, was their most impressive recording prior to the release of their debut album, The Mighty Son Of Noise. Stylistically similar to Naughty By Nature, Son Of Noise lost their identity in an attempt to imitate the hardcore stance of their USA brethren such as Ice Cube and Slick Rick (including all too frequent references to guns and drug deals). The lapse was forgivable, though their endorsement of Buju Banton’s violent homophobic statements, noted by several critics, was not. By 1995 and their second album, Son Of Noise had been forced to secure finance from German label Tribal House, though they still used their own label. The theme of Access Denied: Bullshit & Politics Pt. 1 was the apathy of the UK music industry towards domestic rappers.
