A British composer of instrumental and sacred vocal works and one of the early symphonists.
Boyce was the son of a London cabinetmaker. He became hard-of-hearing at an early age but nevertheless attained popular success, writing joyous and lyrical music of classic design, like the collection of overtures and his eight symphonies rediscovered in the 1930s by Constant Lambert. ~ Blue Gene Tyranny
