The Japanese producer known as Baraki makes rich, beat-heavy electronica heavy on the ideas and cross-genre pollination.
A fan of music from an early age, the Kyoto-based musician learned to play guitar, bass, reeds, and synth; he even accompanied Mixmaster Morris on saxophone during the British DJ's live shows, and contributed to the acclaimed Japanese animé Memories. He first contributed to the London-based Worm Interface label with a track on the compilation Alt.Frequencies, Vol. 2: Disco Moonlight, then released his first album, Colony Laspberry, in 1999. ~ John Bush
