This was New Year's Eve 2012. My friends The Underachievers were opening for Kendrick at the Observatory in Santa Ana. When we got there I couldn't find Kendrick who I was supposed to shoot, so I wound up asking who I thought was a bodyguard if he could help me locate him. He ended up being the owner of Top Dawg Entertainment. Yeah, thank goodness he found me endearing. This picture was seconds before Kendrick popped the champagne bottle all over the crowd/me and my camera.

On a brief pee break at the edge of the woods in Canada, on the Beastcoastal tour, a group of young kids came running up to our van asking if the boys inside were rappers. Issa Dash explained to the kids that they were rappers from Brooklyn. The kids had never heard of any of them but they said they would love to see the inside of the tour bus. We brought them all inside while they took selfies with all the rappers they had no idea about.

This was around 3 a.m. after I waited all night at some fancy club in the Meatpacking District for 50 Cent. I was on assignment in case he brought a bunch of famous people with him that were newsworthy, but he didn't, he came alone and popped champagne into his eyes and then I accidentally flashed his eyes right after with my bright flash, temporarily blinding him, which he somehow thought was incredibly funny and kept posing for me after this. The photos never ran but I love them.

This was also really late at night, I think around 4 a.m. after the TDE show at the Capitale on Bowery. It was pouring rain outside and everyone had left except for about six of us that were huddled under a small bodega awning. Fat Tony, Chance The Rapper and Dyme A Duzin all started free styling as Tom Cruz beatboxed. Maybe one of the most magical spontaneous rap sessions I've ever witnessed.

Joey Badass talking to the crowd outside the green room on a microphone moments before entering the stage in some weird town outside of Reno. Pro Era boys getting ready for their next song while sleeping/texting. This town was super eerie and upon leaving the venue I remember kids running after our van as we pulled out. Felt like the rap twilight zone…

Super Helpful Kwame taking a smoke break in Prospect Park after he played me his new tape Sober a few days before he dropped it. This was a fun day and also the first day I visited the treehouse studio he recorded his new music in with Elitetisc Records that has now become a staple production studio for a lot of upcoming Brooklyn hip hop artists.

My rapper big brother Bodega Bamz completely annihilating the crowd at this year's Summer Stage at Red Hook Park. The crowd had gotten so worked up at this point that the fence dividing what was once a photo pit and the stage had been destroyed. In this picture you can see the mob jumping on it to keep it down so they can rush the stage and dive off.

Fredo Santana posing with his drink midday in midtown with a random woman who was also riding in our elevator who had no idea who Fredo was.

Mr Muthafuckin Exquire on a photo adventure we went on through Bushwick. The day kind of felt like a safari tour through back alleys so finding this car seemed pretty fitting.

One of the cutest, coolest, most talented chicks I know, the fem-core rapper Wavy Spice aka Princess Nokia aka Destiny, in a church uptown after the two of us were extras in an ASAP Ferg/Bodega Bamz music video.

This was ASAP Ferg's debut solo show without the ASAP Mob at SOBs. Right before he surprised the crowd with a guest appearance of Rocky, he leaned down to caress the hair of a fan.

Life on the road with The Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers. This photo embodies our sleeping arrangements for a lot of this tour….(lack of sleep)

Chief Keef and his crew walking back to their hotel after their show at Best Buy Theatre. I spent all day with these kids doing a "Day In The Life" piece and this was the moment I said goodbye. Definitely an eye opening and interesting day that really brought a lot of things to the surface for me as to what I believe now with a lot of rap music that is popular.

Schoolboy Q laughing so hard he fell over while Kendrick did a pre-show dance backstage in Austin.

Earl Sweatshirt and Taco eating apples before Odd Future performed at Peter Rosenberg's Peterpalooza in Williamsburg Park. The backstage area for this show felt like a rapper boy Disneyland with everyone from OF to World's Fair to Meek Mill, Trash Talk, Schoolboy Q, Flatbush Zombies, Bodega Bamz, etc. running around laughing and throwing shit at each other. Had fun.

Meech emptying a ridiculously large amount of ice onto college kids at a Flatbush Zombies show in San Diego. I got pretty good at timing him when he was going to either stage dive or injure people in some other way like with ice so I could at least get a photo of it.
