Uruguayan musician, teacher, and writer Willy Muñoz used to play when he was a teenager, starting professionally at the age of 20, forming a group called Vendabá in 1980.
In the early '90s, the artist successfully performed at Buenos Aires' Mardel Jazz Festival. As a teacher, Willy Muñoz published Metodos Doble Pedal y Doble Bombo, which was oriented toward percussion students and beginners. In addition, Muñoz wrote El Toque Del Candombe (Playing Candombe), along with Hugo Machado and Jorge Sadi, which focused on studies about Afro-Uruguayan percussion. ~ Drago Bonacich
