Though the lineup of Scottish experimental, no wave-influenced band Michael Dracula has changed since the group's inception in the early part of the 21st century, singer, songwriter, and guitarist Emily McLaren has remained at the band's helm.
Signed to the newly reinstated ZE Records, Michael Dracula endured many delays trying to record and produce an album, though they kept busy by performing at some of the U.K.'s best underground clubs, even playing with Franz Ferdinand before they became famous. Michael Dracula finally put out their Slits and Joy Division-inspired debut, In the Red, the first new release on the label in about 20 years, in the summer of 2007. ~ Marisa Brown
