Michael Dadson
Ph.D. Counselling Psychology, Langley, BC

Contributing to personal change of others gives me great meaning. Watching a client grow and move past their pain is rewarding. I have a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia where I worked with PTSD recovery, specifically, the recovery processes of men who have had trauma from their relationships with their fathers. Men and women often respond differently to PTSD and to their method of recovery.

I have worked with people for over 30 years. For over 16 years I have been certified as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have been ordained as a Chaplain for over 25 years and I have worked as a level 3 childcare worker with the Ministry of Children and Families and Child Care Resources for over 25 years. Within these roles, I have experience with a cultural, economical and religious diverse client base. The range of concerns I have dealt with has covered teenage prostitution, violent crime, trauma, crisis, cross-cultural issues, gender crisis, identity issues, addiction, depression, anxiety, parenting and relationship problems. I am grateful for the chances that I have to serve and care for hurting and work hard to make services comfortable because taking that first step to seek help can sometimes be the hardest.

Dr. Michael Dadson treats veterans and other first responders, and is honored to have served as the Clinical Director of the Veterans Transition Network from 2014-2018. Dr. Michael Dadson served on Societies for the Study of Trauma and has been active member of the Society and has delivered workshops and papers at the Society’s annual conference. He has published several articles on the treatment and effects of trauma in academic journals and magazines and presented over 40 papers, workshops and posters at events. His practice is in Langley, BC.

Music can play a big role is reducing stress and anxiety, so I am on this website to try to build a great collection of music.
