Although not famous nationally, Mary Ann Rossoni is a noteworthy singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist who has attracted some attention playing the New England folk circuit of the 1980s and 1990s.
Rossoni was born and raised in Johnston, RI, a working-class town a few hours from Boston.

As a young adult, she attended the Rhode Island School Of Design and graduated with a degree in illustration. Though music is her primary interest, Rossoni often worked as a freelance artist and paid the bills with "day gigs" ranging from waitress, bartender and restaurant manager to real estate agent. After performing around New England quite a bit as part of the duos Anonymous and Fuzek/Rossoni, she decided to pursue a solo career in 1995. Rossoni's first solo album, Half Slips And Garters, was recorded in 1996. Downcity followed four years later. ~ Alex Henderson
