Sean, his real name being marc mahabir, is an upcoming deejay, remixer and producer on the isle of trinidad and tobago.
Born and raised in the town of san juan, Sean hopes to one day be an influence towards the growth of urban music (rap / hip hop / r&b) in his country. Already his work has reached persons across the globe and found on popular media sites. Also an experienced entrepreneur, he is a very hardworking and talented individual whom aspires to make a name for himself, as well as making his family and friends proud.
He may be new to the deejaying scene across the net, but he’s actually been around a long time doing this sort of thing outside of it. It’s been only a few years but already he’s making a name for himself. Other than reverbnation, his work can be heard on many other sites like soundcloud, youtube and myspace, just to name a few. He’s also got the experience and the connections to alot of music oriented persons - most of them being artists, music producers, club owners, deejays, sound crews and radio personalities. Many he’s worked alongside. His main gratification being that he was given the opportunity to work with them. He has already received many praises and awards for his contribution to the local music scene. Even though he learned from some of the top deejays in his country, he admits his major influence was his dad. “Because of him it`s why i got a vast knowledge of music ranging from the 60`s, 70`s, 80`s , 90`s and today… The talent just runs in the family and many people who know us well will agree. I always keep on surprising the older folk" His dad was the popular business owner of soundwaves located in his hometown ; A music and electronics store which has been running for over 30 years strong! His younger brother is also a talented deejay in his own unique style, currently one of the deejays at the popular ‘club india’ nightclub located in chaguanas.
After his father’s passing in january 2009, marc, alongside with his brother, inherited their father’s business. Other than being a business owner, he also involves himself in other music related side projects such as working with some of the local studios as a freelance sound production engineer. Sometimes involving himself also as a committee member for some of the local parties and events which are hosted on the island. Currently he’s working with a local sound crew with north american connections dubbed as mixmasters international. Comprising mainly of deejays from trinidad & tobago, barbados, jamaica, canada & the united states. Sponsored in trinidad & tobago by a small studio owned by kevin ‘KEV’ ragbir and also funded by a popular radio group in barbados. Being a new music group, they hope to be able to carry it to greater heights in the years to come and let their music be heard throughout the world.
