Manganzoides started bringing the garage rock craziness to Lima, Peru, in 1996.
They began with self-released cassettes, including 1998's self-titled effort and Mas Dosis two years later in 2000. But while the releases kept the South American trash rock scene salivating for more Manganzoides, the band's international rep was left to the occasional interview or compilation appearance. That changed with the 2002 issue of Sobredosis de Horror by Ann Arbor, MI-based label No Fun. The set featured both new and old material, and was the combo's first internationally-distributed release. Manganzoides followed that with 2004's Radio Komodo, featuring both new material and tracks resurrected from one of those ancient cassette releases. At that point the band's lineup consisted of vocalist Rafo, guitarist Gonzaleo, keyboardist Diego, bassist Ali, and drummer Tito. ~ Johnny Loftus
