Instrumental Fireworks!
Locus Control (Kuurne, Belgium °2006) is an instrumental fourpiece that drives on exciting rhythms, dynamics and adventurous melodies.

Combine two guitarists, having abig array of colours on their plate, with a rocksolid rhythm section and you will be offered a unique sound!

The band takes the listeners on a trip through a mirage of emotions and atmospheres. A powerful but clean sound, live and on disc, lets the different instruments breathe, making every subtle detail audible. Influences are drawn from three decades of rock music history, but Locus Control’s seeds are firmly planted in progrock, metal and stoner. Major inspirations are bands like Tool, Metallica,Rush and Kyuss.

“…we hear riffs that a lot of bigger bands should be jealous off” (Mindview magazine 2010, 287 Review) “…the challenging music keeps the listener firmly in his grasp”(Rocktribune magazine 2010, 287 Review)

In 2010 Locus Control recorded 3 songs for their debut mini-CD ‘287’. This tasteful teaser resulted in some good reviews in Belgian rock/metal magazines such as Rocktribune, Mindview and Rifraf. Live performances were applauded in some online reviews. Bit by bit Locus Control started growing a solid fanbase and played about 15 gigs a year in numerous places, such as youth clubs, pubs and some festivals.

On ‘Attavita’, the band’s first full album, the bar is raised a lot higher in terms of songwriting and mixing. Early 2013, Locus Control enters the Barefoot Studio only to come out with 6 songs that blast out of your speakers. The production is crisp and clear and every instrument stands out without being buried in the mix. In appropriate places every musician has his own space to excel. The band is not scared of experimenting and with some friend’s help, integrated a few‘spoken word’ passages in their music. The artwork is as tight as the riffing and full of details as the music that’s wrapped in it. There are a lot of links between cd title, artwork and song titles, it is up to the listener to unfold them. February 2013 sees the birth of ‘Attavita’ and Locus Control kicks off their ‘Attavita release tour’ showcasing through Flanders. By now, Studio Brussel, a national radio station, has picked up on the release and played two of the tracks in their weekly metal show.

With this new CD in their pocket, Locus Control is ready to gig extensively and persuade people with their music. In search of a booking agent to fill the better spots in the clubs, Locus Control is promoting themselves in any way possible. All of the reviews that the band has received so far are raving! The diverse displayed musical styles allow for the band to share the stage with a wide range of genres.

‘Attavita’ defines very clearly Locus Control’s direction, heading north to more and bigger stages to rock on!
