Michi (Born Tyler W. Michi on February 14th, 1992 in Charleston, SC) is a Hip-Hop Recording Artist currently residing in Brownsburg, IN.
Since nobody likes you when you're 23, Michi kept it low-key in 2015 focusing on his debut project while planning future moves. Being a fan of rap since before Nelly put that band-aid on his face, Michi grew up studying the craft and falling in love with the culture. By 2010, Michi wrote his first rhyme on the last day of High School to Dorrough's "Ice Cream Paint Job" beat. Five, almost six, years following study hall, Michi has developed his sound and grown his catalog from one "remix" to 100+ originals, only releasing about 40 to the public. Slow Work is the Debut EP from Michi after years of soul searching, songwriting and setbacks; hence the title. Constantly commuting from Indianapolis to Chicago, for the HQ/professional sound you can only get from Darwin Derequito and the engineers at Chicago's Classick Studios; Michi recorded the 8-track EP. Slow Work features production by Konner Wilson, Mounika, DjCreecha, Ekayim, P*ssy Track, Epidemic and J. Cuse; as well as the vocal stylings of Hoosier Scott, Howie Stackz, Yusef and Jackie Pingul. Thanks to Darwin, Epidemic and the rest of the family at Classick, Slow Work became a 25-minute musical journey about meeting yourself for the first time, growing as an individual & achieving inner-peace/happiness regardless of any negative outside influences. In 2016, Michi is busy working... Expect to see several music videos, a website (www.listentomichi.com) launching in Spring, and a full-length mixtape; aka the follow-up to Slow Work… Keep your third eye peeled.
