Lisa’s life has brought her to where she is now because of a storm in life that brought her and her family through the hardships of losing everything in the economic downturn.
It was during this time that her journey in fashion began. The start was simple enough—she just wanted to provide for her family.
A picture-perfect life of family and plenty was radically changed in just a few months. With only forty dollars left to her name, Lisa was motivated to give away the little that she had. Like the Widow’s Mite, her last forty dollars wasn’t much, but it was all she had. Stepping out in faith, it was that act of ultimate trust that changed her life.
Doors opened immediately. A childhood friend who had become a successful jewelry designer had an opening for her. Full immersion in the fashion and couture jewelry business was a fast instructor.
University and life lessons helped, but moving into one of the fastest-moving markets in the world started the wheels turning. And the experience became the vehicle for Lisa to realize her own dream. And it started with boots.
Boots are as much a part of Lisa’s life as her soft Texas drawl. Native Texans consider boots a non-negotiable heritage. But so was her love of far away places and cultures.
Lisa had begun a love affair with Europe at 15—that first of many trips to Europe. A sponge for fashion, design, and heritage, Lisa soaked in the richness of its design, fashion and culture.
Like most designers, Lisa is first a keen observer. Discovering a world beyond Texas’s barbed-wire fences and spring-fed rivers, Lisa became convinced these worlds must intersect.
But, how?
Get busy.
Don’t just dream—do!
Wine-napkin sketches became designs. Designs became prototypes. And prototypes became fine designer boots. It confirmed her philosophy of life—“...nothing is lost, nothing we go through is wasted, there is a plan and a purpose to all of it”.
While reading a story about Ralph Lauren’s humble beginnings on a business flight, Lisa asked herself a question: “Why not me?”
There was no turning back.
With a gift from her father, along with a childhood friend who believed in Lisa's dream and led her to an investor, Lisa formulated a loose idea for a business plan and recruited a top-notch team. She knew from the outset to surround herself with the best, so she convinced Tonya Hawkes, formerly of Donna Karan® and Furla® to come alongside to perfect her concepts. She went to Italy to source leathers and fabrics, and to continue enriching her ideas of design and function.
And in 2012, the Lisa LeCroyTM designer line of boots was officially launched. It was the culmination of years of heart and mind preparation.
Lisa knew she wanted women to feel special regardless of their economic standing. She wanted products that invite women to feel confident meeting their challenges and looking good while doing it.
The product line was born.
Just as seasons change, boots can be tailored and tweaked to match a mood. With hand-crafted leathers and rich fabrics, Lisa’s boots tell a story of simplicity and sophistication, culture and heritage. Each boot is the beginning of a boot wardrobe with unlimited possibilities.
Lisa has two small children, a treasure-trove of friends made across the globe, a husband who is overwhelmingly supportive of her passion, and a very full calendar. She walks and laughs and prays and loves.
Lisa will leave an indelible mark on the world—preferably tooled in leather, strapped to a boot base, and unlike anything else you’ve seen.
