I am a visual storyteller.
Animal stories are my inspiration, watercolor my vehicle. Four-legged beings have been my partners in life, and the woods of Upstate New York, my refuge.

My formal training was completed at Rhode Island School of Design where I began an intimate visual exploration of my relationship to the natural world.

I have drawn and painted horses and dogs since childhood. Each horse, or dog, or cat has their story to tell. Their body language and eyes speak a thousand words. It gives me joy to meet and photograph a new animal for a pet portrait, and see with the eyes of my heart, who they are as much as what they look like.

I tell animal stories in my personal work. I use watercolor because I enjoy its simplicity, transparency and lightness. Like the stories, watercolor glows from within no matter how many layers I apply.

I spent some years traveling and living Out West, seduced by the wide-open spaces and brilliant sunlight. My adventures gave me many stories to paint and opportunities to see from new and varied perspectives.

I have shown my work in California, Colorado, Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee and New York and won awards.

Home is rural New York where I immerse myself in her healing landscape, always with a four-legged companion.
