Lia Hide was born, lives and works in Athens.
She is a voice and piano teacher, a singer/songwriter and also writes music for the theatre, lyrics for other artists. She plays the piano.

Her first solo album, «Home", will be released Fall 2013 by EMI Greece, with music, lyrics, orchestration and production by Lia Hide. “Home” is a dark concept album about lost our lost soul and our new found identities, about lost girls and murdered boys, childhood fears, and adult nightmares. It was recordedat Kyriazis Studios, Athens, mixed by Yiannis Lambropoulos and mastered byThanos Kaleas. Artwork is by the street graffiti artist Yiakou, and by Lia Hide. She identifies her sound as “progressive pop”: a mixture of electronic and psychedelic soundscapes with unexpected melodic structures, and peculiargrooves. Songs of unusual lengths, with multilayered vocals and excessive orchestrations, bitter and sweet, dreamy and aggressive, angry andethereal.

She studied music at the American College of Greece (B. A.) with a specialization in the musical theater and a Minor in English literature, and also Business Administration(A.B.A.). She holds the Licentiate in Piano Performance, from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, and graduated from Ars Nova Conservatory with the Greek State Diploma, both in piano and classical singing, with Highest Distinction.

Previously Lia Hide has collaborated with Influence, A dog named Rodriguez, Neverland, DJMCD,Robin Skouteris, in 5 albums:

Songs from these collaborations are featured in major worldwide famous compilations, as well as Greek ones. (labels:Planetworks, The Sound of Everything, Global Underground).

She plays piano for Nomik (Sleeping Pillow & Universal Trilogy), and K.BHTA, and is the founder of the vocal ensemble Praxis, and the performance group Noizarte. She has collaborated, since her early teens, with numerous artists, bands and ensembles, performing in major and smaller venues, across Greece (Lycabetus Theatre, the Athens Concert Hall, Ancient Nemea Theatre, the French Institute, Greek TV channelsMAD and ANT1, Gagarin 205, Kyttaro, etc).

She represented Greece, a guest and Ambassador of Greece, at Berkley Universityand Stanford University in California, (2004), London School of Music inEngland (2005), Melodrama Festival in Poland (2012).

Lia Hide teaches since 2001 theory and piano, modern singing and musical, and history of modern music. Her students excel in exams and in their individualcareers. An associate of the London College of music, she has had more than 300 students enter the LCM exams, in all levels as well as performing and teaching diplomas, with 100% success.
