The group scored themselves an early buzz with their two lead-off singles, "So Lo," and "Messed Up," which were put out by the band on their own label. Gainng a fair number of plaudits in the British music press, in addition to winning over Ronnie Wood as a fan, Kill City Defectors went into the studio to begin work on their debut album soon after. The resulting work, Mutiny Sounds, was a critical hit, and the band wound up landing a number of showcase gigs, including the Solas Festival. ~ Chris True
