After a few semesters at the Berkley College of Music in Boston and yoeman (as in, "Yo, man...
") duty in endless rock, jazz, blues and disco bands, Tommy Lafferty landed a gig with Gary U.S. Bonds, touring the United States with a legendary Dick Clark revue.

It was on that tour that Tommy got to play guitars for the likes of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Belmonts, The Drifters, The Platters, and a busload of classic doo-wop and '50s greats. It was also during this time that Tommy met the multi-talented Jean Beauvoir…which led to a lifelong friendship, and modern rock bands such as Voodoo X and Crown of Thorns. It was with those outfits that Tommy toured in support of acts like Tina Turner, The Eurythmics, The Pretenders, Jon Bon Jovi and Van Halen, appearing on TV and in sold-out arenas across Europe - a dream come true for this native New Yorker. Solo albums from Jean Beauvoir, King Flux, Voodoo X and Crown of Thorns are in Tommy's catalog - as are From The Fire's now-classic debut album, "Thirty Days and Dirty Nights" (produced by Jean Beauvoir in 1991), the band's self-produced follow up, "Evil Men Do" (2014), and as of late 2015, From The Fire's latest endeavor, "OctOpus” which is currently being written and produced in New York for an early 2016 release.
