An experimental producer based in Boston, Fred Giannelli recorded with Psychic TV's acid house incarnation in the mid- to late '80s, but then went on to make a series of diverse recordings for several labels.
A veteran of music since the late '70s, Giannelli worked with Genesis P. Orridge and the Psychic TV crew for several years, appearing on 1990's Towards the Infinite Beat, later gaining a deal through Wax Trax! for a 1992 LP, Fred. After forming his own Telepathic Recordings label for left-field experimentation with an arsenal of manufactured and altered electronics, Giannelli submerged himself for several years until recording the atmospheric Telepathic Romance LP for the similarly styled Finnish Sähkö label. Perhaps needing to flex his dancefloor muscles once again, Giannelli signed with Richie Hawtin's Plus-8 imprint as Kooky Scientist, and released the acid-oriented Unpopular Science in early 1997. ~ John Bush
