With a background in producing nineties Hip Hop based on hardware samplers and chops from old soul and funk records, the latest sounds from Copenhagen-based producer Kongchain indeed still draws on the distinctive organic sounds, that always made his heart beat the hardest.
By mixing sample aesthetics with booming syncopated 808 drums, punchy bass lines, harmonic synths and high pitched vocal licks, his music can most clearly be defined as a bastard love child raised between Trap, Soul and Hip Hop. And it’s roaring. Sort of like when you take a gorilla off the leash.Kongchain is currently working on his debut EP which might, might not be titled “Mistress”. The EP will both feature bangers and more soulful laid back tunes; for primates maxing in the hammock.
