King Benj-I, Music creator, writer, recording artist, guitarist and performer, started his musical journey in Kingston, Jamaica.
By his early twenties, King Benj-I had become a well respected recording artist Worldwide. In his early years he worked with well known producers such as: Henry'Junjo'Laws, Jo Jo, Whittey and bands such as Revolution, Roots Radics, High Times & Black Culture. Recorded for Legendary recording studios in Jamaica, Channel One, Harry J & King Tubby. King Benj-I first show was at the Odeon Theater, Kingston, JA for producer Henry Junjo Laws, Portmore Reggae Festival, some shows in the Countryside of Jamaica.

King Benj-I started his own recording label “Solid Rock” in JA with Raymond Smith who produced his first Classic hit single “Crazy Lover”. & Poor Can't Take No More, which was his first single.

A personal friend of Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, Tinga Stuart, Latty Guzang, Errol Dunkley, Josey Wales, Papa Toyan, Lee Van Cliff, Israel Vibration, Dennis Brown, Sanchez, Bunny Maloney, Teddy Brown, Val (Bass) Douglas, Johnny Bull, Sister Carol, The Cables, The Melodians, Sugar Minott, Derick Hinds, Tony Greene, Frankie Paul, and Denroy Morgan, Reggae Giants whom he grew up and worked with.

His works and successes have earned him the right to be among the Reggae Greats. In ‘84, King Benj-I left Jamaica for the United States, to conduct a world tour starting in the US for his hit single “Crazy Lover” with Roots Radics Band, where they played several states through out the US, Mexcio & Canada.

His outlook on life and his concern about derogatory lyrics, influence progressive people as they give him Nuff respect. His message, style and charisma is original. as he takes his music to higher heights. He has star billing with R & B Legends Ray, Goodman & Brown. First Reggae Artist to headline along with Positive Power Band, Jah Love & The Survivors and Rock & Rolls best, NJ’s own Bruce Springsteen at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ. King went on to play Synphoney Hall in Newark, NJ There he played alongside Mary Baracka, Leroy Jones, Black Democratic Connection, De La Sole, Jessica Corrum, Poet Paramore, Bouncing Soul, and the Calabash Sisters and Bigga Thomas Group

King went on to release albums such as Reggae Girl, Outrage, Who Rule and Racial Profiling., and singles, Girl Like You, Hail Up King Selassie-I, Don’t Hurt My Love and Jah is the Assurance, His new works are ready for release. albums: Musical Revelation.

King Benj-I has contributed to numerous charitable events, to name a few: Hurricane Gilbert Relief Fund, for aid to Jamaica, Fireman’s Benefit for the Perth Amboy, NJ Fire Department, Marlboro Physchiatric Hospital.

His remarkable stlye and upbeat rhythm differentiate him from many others as he rides on any rhythm. He has shown remarkable flexibility with a unique sound on many rhythm tracks.
