Host of several radio and TV rock/pop shows like Rock Show, Likidificador, Rock Sandwich, Mocidade Independente, and Som Pop, Kid Vinil formed the rockabilly group Verminose in 1980.
In 1983, the band became Magazine. In the same year, the single "Sou Boy" (Ted Gaz/Aguinaldo) became a national hit. In 1984, they had success with "Tic-tic Nervoso" (Antônio Luiz/Marcos Serra) and "Adivinhão" (Baby Santiago). After recording the LP Magazine (WEA, 1984), Kid Vinil left Magazine and formed Kid Vinil e os Heróis do Brasil, which included André Christovam. In 1991 he joined Magazine again. In 1997, Zeca Baleiro included the tribute "Kid Vinil" in his debut album Por Onde Andará Stephen Fry?. ~ Alvaro Neder
