Petersburg, Florida, where he learned guitar and began writing songs at a young age. After his high school rock band fizzled, Beckler gave up on music, and focused his creative energy on screenwriting. But a chance encounter with a Bob Dylan album changed his course, and soon Beckler was writing songs once again.
