Julien Charles art work is about colours, shapes and other abstract forms within the discipline of painting. Sometimes he branches out into sculpture and mixed media mediums. He uses all sorts of materials and surfaces. He is a natural and prolific creator.

Conceptually, if Charles sees something he likes or something that makes him feels intensely joyful or personal, it will influence the next set of art works. He doesn't care for creating a history of progress in his art work like other artists. (Ironically this is impossible in some way as all work in linked by creation and time) He likes the randomness of an unexpected discovery regarding the next influence on his work. It’s purposely indulgent and hedonistic. He is a true hedonist.
