Jonathan Sharples is a London-based freelance composer for various media avenues.
Originally from Australia, Jonathan gained a Bachelor of Music/Teaching with a major in Composition from the University of New England, Armidale.

Jonathan has a wide range of skills ranging from composition and sound design to teaching, whilst also having vast experience as a professional musician.

His work has appeared in both film and theatre. He composed the score for ‘This Is My Body’, Ten Ten Theatre’s award winning original one women play, as well as developing the score and sound design for BAWG Productions short film, ‘Let Me Stay’. As a songwriter he has written for several bands including Paper Shadows and Murmur. He composed the two Overtures from Paper Shadow’s forth-coming self-titled debut due out early 2017.

Most recently he has composed the soundtrack for Ten Ten Theatre’s short film series ‘Bonnie’s Brother’ about a families struggle when their eldest son runs away from home and the short film ‘Common Room’. Written and directed by Martin O’Brien the film explores the lives of four teenagers as they make the transition from their GCSE’s to Sixth Form College. Jonathan is currently working on a short film in conjunction with The Secret Passage Theatre Company due for release late 2016.
