Hello mates! We're a modern metal band from Moscow, Russia.
Konstantine Shibanov on the guitar and Alexi Semenov on the bass guitar - and we are looking for new members to finish our studio work on our first album and make several perfomances in its' support. You can listen to 4 of 10 tracks, which were recorded in our home studio come without vocal line, just to make your opinion. We hope you like it!
The band began its' carrier in February of 2011, just to play some popular songs in one of the Moscow studios. It consisted of Konstantine Shibanov and Vladimir Demidov on guitars, Alexi Semenov on the bass guitar and Michael Petrov on the drums. The band played some old-school rock and heavy-metal in Iron Maiden style. It even made some records. The band hadn't have the name until in September Alexander Yarovikov joined the band as a vocalist. He proposed the name 'Afterduck', and we all liked it. We began preparations for our first concerts. Unfortunately, Michael had to leave us due to several problems, and we started looking for a new drummer. We couldn't perform concerts without a drummer, so we just played covers in studios for a joy. But Konstantine and me wanted something more than just playing for ourselves. We wrote a lot of new songs, which became more difficult technically, became more progressive and didn't have much in common with old-school heavy-metal. It needed a lot of time for practising to sound good. So there were some arguments about the direction, in which the band needed to develop, so Vladimir left the band as he didn't want to take the band seriously. Fortunately, we could find a drummer - Alexander Vasiliev - and that saved the band, We decided to play with only one guitar and continued our preparations. Our first concert was in the end of the May in Blur-cafe. It was a festival of rock music, and it was a good performance. We achieved good experience, and we wanted more. Konstantine offered very interesting songs, and I also composed new material in a new style, much closer to modern melodic death metal. This style needed much more time for practising, but, unfortunately, not everybody wanted to do so. The arguments became stronger, and our next performances were getting worse. In the end, it was decided to break up. All of us continued in thier own way, but Konstantine and me decided to go on a new level-project. I successfully passed my exams in a music college and got very useful experience about the art and technique of bass-play. We remastered our old songs and began recording them at home. Now you can listen to results of our year-long work.
We named ourselves 'JekyllHyde', in a name of main character of Robert Stevenson novel 'Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'. We chose this name, because it represents the kind of human being very well. In a person there are always two sides - a dark side and a good side. They 're fighting against each other all the time, and sometimes dark side wins, and than come evil deeds, but sometime darkness looses, and than we can feel harmony, kindness, all the positive emotions. We try to present both sides in our music, so you can hear both anger and calmness, tears and laughter, war and peace. I hope you like it!
