Through the many things I have done and in the many places I have been, I have always been compelled to look at the world and its inhabitants through a lens.
For almost as long as I can remember I have had a camera in my hand or nearby.I have been an ice cream maker, a traveler, a builder, a deputy sheriff and police officer, a psychotherapist and a freelance photojournalist. In all my work I have had a fascination with people and their interaction with their environments. My love of animals led naturally to my observation of people and their companion animals.

As a student of anthropology I conducted videotaped interviews of homeless and homed residents of Burlington, VT and Plattsburgh, NY by means of explaining how these two cities grew differently from similar roots. My work as a police officer brought me into contact with a whole different aspect of humanity and taught me to look for clues into the lives of the people I encountered.

Adapting to digital technology brought me into a broader exploration of the engineered and natural worlds: From lions on Taita and Rukinga ranches in Kenya, to construction documentation in my home town, I've developed a greater understanding and sense of importance of how we impact and are impacted by our experiences.

Birds that have been an interest from early in my life. Recent travels back to Kenya, visits to Panama, Costa Rica, PuertoRico, Belize, and early travels around the US, New Zealand and eastern Australia, have given me fantastic opportunities to develop my passionfor these winged marvels into an obsession.
