Isaac Watts is a native of Washington State, and, after spending 8years in Los Angeles, he is happy to be back and starting a music ministry here.
Influenced by his love of Blues, Gospel, and Worship music, Isaac creates a sound that is unique and heartfelt. His lyrics are personal, yet relatable, and God’s message of love and grace is Isaac’s main focus. His piano style and evocative voice clearly convey the deep emotions and love of God that inspire Isaac’s music. Isaac began composing at the age of 11. Isaac found solace in playing piano alone for hours, and through writing his own lyrics, discovered a powerful means of self-expression. By the age of 13 he was a member of the Worship Team band at the Vineyard Church in Gig Harbor.

After high school, Isaac set music aside for a time to focus on acting, but after a few short years, he returned to his first love; music, he realized, made him feel nearly whole. However, Isaac’s music took a back seat in his life when he fled the church and battled drug and alcohol addiction while living in the Pacific Northwest and in Los Angeles. During and after this period, in which Isaac was without his faith, his music spoke about the anger, pain, fear and hate that he held deep inside.

In 2004, Isaac took on the lead singer role for the Los Angeles-based band, The Nanomachines, performing and recording with them for two years. In 2006, Isaac released his first solo album, “Face Down in the Deep End…” He wrote all but two of the album’s songs (those two he co-wrote with Marcus Sawyer of The Nanomachines), and produced the album himself, an undertaking he calls “a labor of love.”

After releasing his solo album, and hoping to realize his dreams of fame and fortune as a recording star, Isaac again found himself battling drugs and alcohol. He came back home to Gig Harbor in 2008, seeking a new, clean start and the means to mend a broken life. Isaac’s healing began after he attempted suicide on Christmas Day 2008. As he lay alone in the hospital, Isaac realized that he had never really been alone at all. God was the only One who would never fail him. Knowing it was the only way to heal, Isaac invited God back into his life. While talking with God about His purpose in his life, Isaac felt God telling him to use his music to minister to those who might be lost and hurting in the same way he had been for so many years.

Now Isaac is doing just that with his current music ministry and through Surrender Magazine of which he is the Founder and Executive Director. He is assisted and supported in this endeavor by his wife and manager, Kristen Watts. Isaac’s goal for this ministry is to bring the message of God’s hope and love to as many people as he can through the musical gift that God has given him.
