Name: Andrea
Age: 35
Provenience: Milan (Italy)
I've been playing the bass guitar for 19 years, but I define myself as
an "atipical bass player" because, since the beginning, I never took into account the idea of playing just to "take the time" and do the rythmic
base of the songs, or at least....not only.
My way of playing is a bit particular, let's just say unusual, at least in Italy.
I try to pick up from my basses their true soul (and mine too) through every possible form and colour.
I play in a different way...that might also not be appreciated! But that's the way I am, and I can't and I won't change! When I studied, many years ago, I felt tied to the old rules of the walking bass, to the modal stereotypes, to the linear bass lines of the useless bass players we frequently see or listen...
Quite early, after 3 years of study, I begun to play in a few bands, playing different genres, trying to experience different situations growing up my skills and expertise, creating my personal and unique way pf playing.
Official bands:
PINDARIC FLIGHT was a project based on rock/prog-metal music, but also on the psychedelic music of the '70. We never set any limit to our inspiration. We played and expess ourselves at 100%.
JAM TRIO we played ambient-progressive rock with ethnic percussions, bass and stick!
THE UNSHAPED QUARTET was a great band where I play my basses with a stick player, guitarrist and a drummer.
TINCTURA was a rock metal band I played with more or less 15 years ago. In this band I started to build up my technique
