Insatanity was a cult death metal band from Philadelphia whose uncompromising style helped to define the American Northeast's uniquely brutal death template, alongside the likes of Vital Remains, Suffocation, and Immolation.
Formed in 1992, the band worked up a few demos before unleashing their debut album, Divine Decomposition, in 1995, at which time their lineup consisted of vocalist Mark Rhochar, guitarists Dan Roberts and Jay Lipitz, bassist Chris Lytle, and drummer Matt Mazzenga. But they subsequently fell apart, definitively going their separate ways following 1997's posthumous Vengeance from Beyond the Grave EP, only to be revived by Lytle (now a member of Pyrexia) in 2006, with an entirely new formation for the recording of another album, entitled The Day God Died. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
